Executive Director


Key Responsibilities 


Management & Operations

• Develop organizational goals and objectives consistent with agency   mission and vision

• Oversee content, quality and delivery of all programs, services and activities to ensure organizational goals and objectives are met

• Ensure compliance with funding sources and legal/regulatory requirements


Finance & Administration

• Manage financial   resources, including preparation of the annual budget and regular monitoring   of the

organization’s financial   position

• Approve expenditures

• Provide for proper fiscal   record-keeping and reporting


Fundraising

• Oversee solicitation of funding from all sources

• Ensure services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed   goals and objectives

• Prepare accurate and timely analyses of fundraising results,   variances, and performance trends


Human Resources

• Provide leadership and   management to staff and ensure appropriate support of all departments

• Retain a diverse, highly qualified staff and volunteers by providing career coaching, personal development, and evaluation measures

• Ensure compliance with personnel policies approved by the Board of Directors


Community & Public Relations

• Assure that the organization, its mission and its programs are portrayed in a positive and consistent   manner to the public and all stakeholders

• Ensure appropriate representation of organization by all employees and that everyone inside the organization can tell its story well


Board Support

• Support Board’s governance   role by providing timely information on agency operations and financials

• Drive strategic planning process to achieve organization’s mission   and goals

• Assist Board Chair in   planning agenda and materials for board meetings

• Engage Board Members to   raise funds from the community

• Facilitate orientation of new Board Members

 

Qualifications/Skills

 

• Demonstrated commitment to the Cafe’s mission of promoting an Environment of Radical Hospitality in the

context of loving   accountability

• Proven experience as a   nonprofit executive director or similar role

• Ability to apply successful fundraising and networking techniques to get individuals and businesses   involved for the organization’s success

• Strong understanding of   nonprofit finance and performance measures

• Strong desire to support men and women who are on   the recovery journey; ability to embody principles of recovery in daily   interactions at the Café and in the Community

• Excellent communication   (oral and written) and public speaking skills

• Ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal   and external stakeholders

• High standards of performance, quality, and confidentiality

• In depth knowledge of   corporate governance principals and managerial best practices

• An analytical mind capable for “out-of-the-box” thinking to solve problems

• Valid driver’s license,   safe driving record required

Finance and Program Director


The Finance and Program Director provides strategic and operational leadership in two critical areas:
1. Finance & Fundraising – ensuring financial stewardship, compliance, and sustainability through strong accounting practices, fundraising, donor stewardship, and grant management.
2. Program Oversight – ensuring the faithful implementation of the Recovery Café model, staff supervision, and program excellence across all services.
 

This role balances financial leadership with programmatic management, serving as a key member of the Café’s leadership team and steward of its mission.


Finance & Fundraising

- Serve as primary financial steward; ensure accurate accounting, audit readiness, and timely tax filings.
- Develop and manage annual budgets; provide monthly and quarterly financial reporting to the Board.
- Lead fundraising strategy, including grant writing, donor relations, sponsorships, and special events.
- Oversee payroll, HR compliance, insurance, and benefits administration.
- Maintain transparent systems for tracking revenue and expenses, and ensure alignment with funder requirements.


Program Leadership

- Supervise program staff to ensure high-quality delivery of current and future programming, School for Recovery, community partnerships. - Ensure fidelity to Recovery Café Guiding Principles and the membership model.
- Oversee program monitoring and evaluation (M&E), including data collection in AGENCY and reporting for grants/contracts.
- Build and sustain external community partnerships that expand access to housing, health, education, and employment opportunities.
- Support Board development and governance structures.


Education & Experience

- Degree in Nonprofit Management, Finance, Public Administration, Business, or related field preferred, with a 2-5 years’ experience, or a minimum 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit finance, program administration, or related areas.
- Demonstrated success in grant writing, government contracts, and donor stewardship.
- Proven track record in budget management for organizations with budgets of $1M+.
- Experience supervising multi-disciplinary teams and fostering inclusive, trauma-informed environments.


Technical & Professional Competencies

- Deep knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, GAAP, and compliance.
- Strong fundraising, grant management, and event planning skills.
- Expertise in data-driven program evaluation and outcome measurement.
- Proficiency in financial software (QuickBooks) and donor management systems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to represent the Café to funders, partners, and the community.

- Strong commitment to Recovery Café Guiding Principles and trauma-informed care.
- Deep respect for lived experience of homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges.
- Flexible, collaborative, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Peer Support Specialist – ReNew Recovery Café


The Peer Support Specialist (Café-Based) is responsible for providing trauma-informed, person-centered recovery support to members of ReNew Recovery Café. This role cultivates a welcoming, healing environment where individuals experiencing mental health challenges, substance use disorders, or homelessness can find belonging, accountability, and growth. The specialist works collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and members to uphold the Café’s Guiding Principles and promote holistic wellness.


Member Support & Recovery Engagement

  • Facilitate peer-led recovery circles and groups aligned with Café values and recovery pathways 
  • Offer one-on-one peer support focused on recovery goals, emotional regulation, and practical life skills. 
  • Support members in connecting to housing, employment, healthcare, and community resources.
  • Encourage participation in Café activities, classes, and community service projects 
  • Maintain consistent presence during Café hours to ensure a stable, supportive environment.
     

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with case management, outreach, and volunteer teams to coordinate care and referrals. 
  • Participate in team meetings and member case reviews to share insights and support holistic service delivery. 
  • Contribute to Café data tracking systems, ensuring accurate documentation of member engagement and outcomes. 
  • Assist in orientation and mentorship of new members and volunteers.
     

Education & Experience

  • Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) or equivalent credential preferred; otherwise, willingness to obtain certification within 12 months. 
  • Lived experience in recovery from substance use, mental health, or trauma, with at least two years of sustained recovery if applicable. 
  • Experience in group facilitation, peer mentoring, or community-based recovery programs.
     

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse populations.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed, harm reduction, and person-centered practices.
    Ability to maintain healthy boundaries and confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills for data entry and reporting.

Peer Support Specialist – Street Outreach


The Peer Support Specialist (Street Outreach) is responsible for providing compassionate, relationship-based support to individuals living unsheltered or experiencing unstable housing in the community. This position bridges the gap between the streets and recovery services by building trust, offering resource connections, and empowering individuals to take steps toward stability and wellness. The specialist works closely with Café staff, local partners, and the coordinated entry system to connect participants to housing, treatment, and recovery pathways.


Outreach & Engagement

  • Conduct regular street and community-based outreach in identified high-need areas.
  • Build trusting relationships through consistent presence, empathy, and active listening.
  • Distribute basic needs supplies and harm reduction materials while offering recovery-focused encouragement. 
  • Identify and engage individuals appropriate for Café membership or referrals to partner programs. 
  • Facilitate warm handoffs to case management, housing navigators, and treatment providers.
     

Case Coordination & Documentation

  • Record outreach encounters, service referrals, and outcomes in the Agency database. 
  • Collaborate with Café and community partners to ensure coordinated care and follow-up. 
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case meetings to improve outreach strategies and response efforts. 
  • Support data collection for grant compliance and evaluation partnerships (e.g., FSU, HMIS, etc.).
     

Education & Experience

  • Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) or equivalent credential preferred; otherwise, willingness to obtain certification within 12 months. 
  • Minimum of one year of experience in street outreach, harm reduction, or peer recovery work.
  • Lived experience with recovery and/or homelessness strongly preferred, with at least two years of sustained recovery if applicable.
     

Skills & Competencies

  • Skilled in trauma-informed and harm reduction approaches.
  • Ability to engage individuals in crisis with empathy and safety awareness.
  • Strong communication, boundary-setting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Competence in documentation, data entry, and inter-agency collaboration.

Administration and Compliance Lead


The Administration and Compliance Lead is responsible for ensuring that the Café operates with excellence in governance, compliance, and administration. This role oversees the implementation of policies and procedures, ensures adherence to nonprofit and funder requirements, manages compliance training, and provides administrative support for Board, HR, and operational systems.


Administration & Operations

- Maintain accurate and accessible records of Board minutes, contracts, bylaws, policies, and financial documents in compliance with nonprofit governance requirements.
- Support internal communication, scheduling, and documentation to ensure smooth operations across all Café programs.


Compliance & Risk Management

- Ensure the Café complies with federal, state, and local nonprofit regulations, including corporate filings, IRS requirements, and grant contract conditions.
- Coordinate internal audits of policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Oversee compliance training for staff, volunteers, and Board members (confidentiality, privacy, ethics, safety, and Recovery Café Guiding Principles).
- Monitor privacy and data protections for Member information in alignment with AGENCY database standards and recovery community best practices.


Governance & Board Support

- Serve as liaison to the Board of Directors, preparing agendas, supporting committees, and ensuring compliance with bylaws and governance policies.
- Track and report on organizational compliance to the Executive Director and Board.


Education & Experience

- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in nonprofit administration, governance, or compliance.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit law and risk management.


Skills & Competencies

- Expertise in policy development, compliance systems, and recordkeeping.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to train and coach staff on compliance and policy adherence.


Personal Qualities

- Commitment to the Recovery Café mission, Guiding Principles, and trauma-informed practices.
- Integrity, accountability, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Collaborative and flexible, with a proactive approach to problem solving.

Data and Program Evaluation Coordinator - Part Time


The Data and Program Evaluation Coordinator oversees the Café’s data systems, monitoring and evaluation processes, and outcome reporting to ensure accountability, program quality, and compliance with funder requirements. This role is responsible for leading the use of the AGENCY database, coordinating data collection across staff, and analyzing results to support program improvement and funding sustainability.


AGENCY Database Leadership

- Serve as the primary AGENCY database lead, trained by Recovery Café Network, and train/mentor other staff on system use.
- Manage and maintain Member profiles, enrollment data, attendance tracking, service notes, and volunteer records.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of Member intake, attendance, and Recovery Circle data.
- Generate regular reports for staff, Board, and funders.


Data Collection & Monitoring

- Oversee administration of baseline, follow-up, and annual surveys to track Member outcomes.
- Maintain systems for attendance sheets, sign-in logs, and program participation tracking.
- Safeguard Member privacy and ensure ethical, trauma-informed data practices.


Program Evaluation & Reporting

- Lead monitoring and evaluation (M&E) efforts, assessing effectiveness of programs, staff performance, and overall mission impact.
- Compile, analyze, and present data to demonstrate outcomes for Members and the community.
- Provide funder-required outcome reports, ensuring compliance and supporting grant sustainability.
- Use data to identify areas of strength and opportunities for program improvement.


Education & Experience

- Degree in Data Management, Public Health, Social Sciences, Nonprofit Administration, or related field required with at least two years’ experience or a minimum 5 years of experience in nonprofit program evaluation, database administration, or monitoring & evaluation.

 

Technical & Professional Skills

- Expertise in data collection, monitoring & evaluation frameworks, and outcomes measurement.
- Strong database management skills; ability to train others in system use.
- Proficiency with Excel, data visualization, and reporting tools.
- Strong grant and funder reporting experience.


Personal Qualities

- Commitment to Recovery Café Guiding Principles and trauma-informed practices.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Ability to translate complex data into accessible insights for staff, Board, and funders.

Getting Ahead Trainer  - Part Time


· Receive Certificate of Completion for Bridges out Of Poverty training.

· Become familiar and participate as a facilitator with the Getting Ahead Program

· Assess for additional trainings and offerings through the School of Recovery 

· Organize and prepare the Getting Ahead Sessions or other Training Sessions


Getting Ahead Class Support

• Become a community expert of the Getting Ahead curriculum and understanding of the program

• Coordinate Getting Ahead Classes with community partners

• Assist with recruiting and screening of possible applicants

• Secure facilitators for Getting Ahead classes and assist when necessary

• Conduct intake interviews and strengths-based assessments for all Getting Ahead Investigators

• Provide support to the Getting Ahead Facilitators for their classes

• Tracking of Getting Ahead participants within all organizations offering the Getting Ahead classes, sending all communications to Getting Ahead participants and organizing the survey data

• Annually follow up with graduates for outcomes and resource assistance

• Maintain current knowledge of social services available throughout community

• Develop relationships with other community stakeholders committed to improving overall

community health

• Assist in building community and educational partnerships through external relationship

development, fundraising, and collaborations

• Participate in community organizations and attend relevant community meetings

• Engage in Public Speaking Presentations as requested/required

• Act as a liaison with other community stakeholders with emphasis on enhancing the

advancement of poverty initiatives

• Assist in the development and distribution of educational materials, such as pamphlets, audio-

visual aids, displays, reports for outreach and evaluation of programming.

• Work with all elements of the community (law enforcement, churches, government, education,

healthcare, business etc.) to reduce barriers associated with poverty


Organizational Support

• Promotes the Getting Ahead classes by representing the organization at events, committee
meetings and other community outreach opportunities

• Creates reports on the Getting Ahead program as needed

• Assists in identifying grant opportunities to support the program  

• Good communication skills including uplifting and encouraging others as well as positive presentation of the organization. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written. Must demonstrate good discretion and work well independently.

• Previous experience working with underserved, unhoused, and underrepresented individuals 

• Maintain good working relationships and communications with volunteers, staff, and community
stakeholders. 

• Knowledge of community resources, including but not limited to: nonprofits, government
agencies, human and social services.

Technology experience and proficiency is a must, including all Microsoft Office products. Competent computer skills in Word, Excel, Publisher and Power Point, data entry skills, and basic understanding of database management.
